Mac and Cheese
Ingredients
- 2 cups uncooked macaroni
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1/2 lb American cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Cook pasta in lightly salted water until al-dente.
While the pasta is boiling begin making the rue by melting the butter in a medium sauce pan. Add the flour. With a wisk blend together. Add the milk. Be careful not to boil, it will burn quickly if you are not careful. Stay at the stove and stir constantly.
One by one add the cheese slices and stir until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
In an oven safe casserole dish pour cheese over the macaroni. Bake in 350° oven until bubbly around the outside. About 15-20 minutes.
Remove from oven and serve warm! Kids love it...enjoy!
Description
This was one of our favorites growing up that mom would make. It was creamy and full of yummy flavor. A great recipe for the kids, it is sure to be a crowd pleaser no matter your age. This recipe can easily be doubled and even tripled to feed big crowds. My mom almost never made just one batch. Enjoy!!
